New Partnership with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company

Twelfth Night Wines is thrilled to announce a new partnership with the Boston-based Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC).  With a name like Twelfth Night Wines, the synergies of a partnership with the CSC are clear!  For those living in the Boston area, you will recognize CSC as the organization that presents free Shakespeare productions on the Boston Common every summer to rapt audiences of Shakespeare lovers.  From the CSC’s website: Now entering its 23rd season, CSC’s Free Shakespeare on the Common has become an annual Boston tradition, modeled along the lines of “Shakespeare in the Park” in Central Park and the many other free outdoor summer Shakespeare events throughout the city. Beginning in the summer of 1996, CSC Artistic Director, Steven Maler collaborated with the City of Boston, the Boston Parks & Recreation Department, and the Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs to present a free outdoor production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Copley Square.  This event was described by Ed Siegel of The Boston Globe as “fully engaging, with one of the most diverse audiences ever seen in Boston.” Midsummer was chosen as one of the top ten productions of 1996 by the Globe, and Mr. Maler received the Eliot Norton Award for his outstanding direction.  Carolyn Clay of The Boston Phoenix wrote, “how proud it is for Boston to finally offer free Shakespeare.” Following the success of Midsummer, CSC presented Romeo and Juliet at the newly renovated Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common in August of 1997. Performing annually at the Parkman Bandstand — centrally located, handicapped-accessible and accessible to all by public transportation — CSC has become one of Boston’s most attended annual arts events.  Each summer CSC welcomes approximately 75,000 people to our shows on the Boston Common, and over the past 22 years, CSC has performed for over 1 million audience members!  In September of 2013, CSC was named as the Theatre-in-Residence at Babson College. Twelfth Night Wines has a long tradition of supporting charitable events both in Boston and in other states where our wines are distributed.  This year, we are very proud to support the amazing work of the CSC by donating Twelfth Night wines for the annual CSC fundraising Gala to be held on April 7 at the Taj Hotel in Boston.  Always one of Boston's most hotly anticipated events," says The Improper Bostonian’s Jonathan Soroff, Commonwealth Shakespeare’s gala is a highlight of Boston’s spring gala season. The event is a fun-filled evening of fabulous food and drink, inspiring entertainment, and the spirit of generosity, as some of Boston’s best movers and shakers help to make CSC’s mission a reality. The 2018 gala will welcome around 350 guests for the celebration, including Board members, valued donors, corporate partners, and community leaders. The theme of the evening is based on Founding Artistic Director Steve Maler's vision for CSC’s 2018 Free Shakespeare on the Common production of Richard III, a searing drama about a ruthless leader's ascension to power and ultimate downfall. Drawing inspiration from Alexander McQueen's "Jack the Ripper" collection, the Gala will feature the dark, mysterious feeling it summons of Victorian London. While CSC galas are typically focused on multiple performances by the actors, the 2018 gala will feature a sole monologue by a very special celebrity guest. Guests at the Gala will be treated to two delicious Twelfth Night wines, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, to complement the fabulous food that will be served by the Taj Hotel kitchen.  Mark your calendars for one of the biggest social events of the season to support a wonderful arts organization in Boston and to enjoy the wines of the Bard! 2017 Recap

2017: A Year In Wine

It’s been quite the year for us at Twelfth Night Wines! 2017 was all about growth and good wine. We bottled delectable new wines, expanded to new stores, and spread our name at charitable events and fundraisers. Twelfth Night has remained committed to community and creating the highest quality of wine possible. We would like to thank all of those who have helped us become what we are today. Read more about our recent adventures below and have a happy new year!   The Harvest It was a beautiful day for a harvest this year. In Central Otago, the sun was shining as our team carefully picked beautiful bunches of ripe Pinot Noir grapes to be trucked off to the winery for processing.  Our harvest crew hailed from all over the world and as usual there was a spirit of fun and camaraderie in the vineyard. For a detailed look at our experience harvesting, check out this video Introducing new wines We have some brand new varietals to add to our ever-expanding wine list. This year we introduced a Pinot Noir Rose and a Late Harvest Gewurztraminer. Twelfth Night now offers five different wines including a Sauvignon Blanc, a Riesling, and Pinot Noir. Whether you’re lounging at home with the kids or hosting a dinner party, we think you’ll be able to find something tasty that suits your mood!   Expansion to new stores Twelfth Night is now being sold in more stores across the United States. In 2017 we expanded to three additional states including North Carolina, Florida, and Indiana. We couldn’t be more excited to keep introducing our quality product to as many people as possible. Charities and festivities We have become quite good at multitasking, simultaneously pouring wine, meeting new people, snapping photos, and helping others. We were proud and thankful to attend many charitable events this year. It was our fourth year supporting the WGBH Food & Wine Festival, our second year supporting We Can at the Wequassett Resort in Cape Cod, and our first year at various other important fundraisers. We believe that food and wine is a great way to bring people together.   In Store Wine Tastings If you were in Boston at all this year, it is possible you may have tried some of our wines in a local store. From the Brookline Liquor Mart in Chestnut Hill to Pemberton Farms in Cambridge to Baccos Wine & Cheese in Boston, we got around. We love talking to new people (wine connoisseur or not). If you happen to run into us in the future don’t be afraid to ask questions, we’ll be sure to give out a generous pour!   It's safe to say 2017 was a great year for Twelfth Night. Lucky for us, every year is a year in wine. Check out our time at one of our favorite times favorite festivals!...
